Born in the fall of 1973, it wasn't too many years after that Chris began to play with cameras. Whether built from toy blocks, or that first plastic 35mm won in school, aiming a lens has almost been second nature to him. It wasn't until later though, at a local Air Show, that the film really started to roll. Around the same time, he became actively involved in local television production and video graphics, reinforcing his eye for composition, color and design. College introduced him to both the traditional and early digital darkrooms.

Today, Chris shoots with 35mm, medium format and digital equipment. Images are carefully examined on the light table and on the computer screen before considering for printing. No matter the hardware, however, the intent is always the same: to focus on the abundant beauty of the natural world. From Acadia to Yosemite to his own back yard, he looks a little further to find the details that all too often get passed by.
